Privacy Policy

Overview

FrogRiverPortal is a casual frog river crossing game and web-based game portal. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to users.

Information We Collect

• Device-scoped game session: a randomly generated installation identifier and session token used to save progress and operate friend challenges without registration or user login.
• Gameplay and challenge data: scores, level progress, preferences, challenge results, live-room membership and status, challenge links, referral source, and similar activity needed to operate and measure the game.
• Uploaded content: images or files you choose to upload, such as profile images, when this feature is available.
• Device and technical data: app version, browser or WebView information, device type, operating system, timestamps, error logs, and network request information.
• Notification preferences: permission status and local notification settings when you choose to enable reminders or in-app message alerts.
• Advertising data: Android versions with ads use Google AdMob. Google may process IP addresses, device and advertising identifiers, app interactions, and diagnostic data to deliver and measure ads and prevent fraud, subject to applicable consent choices.

How We Use Information

• Provide, maintain, and improve the game and related web services.
• Save progress and personalize gameplay without requiring a user account.
• Support image upload, sharing, local notifications, and other native app features.
• Diagnose crashes, loading errors, service interruptions, and security issues.
• Prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and misuse of the service.
• Measure whether shared challenge links lead to game opens and completed challenges.
• Deliver and measure advertising in Android versions with ads, and personalize ads where permitted by your consent choices.

Camera, Photos, Sharing, and Notifications

The iOS app may request access to the camera or photo library only when you choose to upload or change an image. System sharing on Android or iOS sends only the score card, message, and link you choose to share. Anyone with a challenge link can view the shared score and generated player alias until the link expires. Anyone with a live-room link can see whether the room is waiting, ready, playing, or finished and the generated aliases and results of its two participants. We do not receive your contact list or the identity of the person you choose in the system share sheet. Local notifications are used only after you grant notification permission.

Cookies and WebView Storage

The app uses an embedded WebView to load our HTTPS web service. Local storage, cache, and a device-scoped session token may be used to remember preferences, maintain game state, and restore a friend challenge after installation. The app does not provide user registration or login. You can clear local app data by deleting and reinstalling the app.

Payments and In-App Purchases

The iOS premium edition is purchased once from the App Store and does not currently offer additional in-app purchases. Android editions may offer optional coin packs through Google Play Billing. For those Android purchases, we may receive transaction status and product information needed to provide purchased items and support users.

Advertising and Consent

The iOS premium edition does not display advertising. Android versions with ads use the Google Mobile Ads SDK to display banner ads and optional rewarded ads. You can choose to watch a rewarded ad for an in-game revive; a reward is applied only when the advertising SDK confirms it was earned. Google User Messaging Platform checks whether a consent message is required before advertising requests are made. Where available, use Ad privacy settings in the game's main menu to review or change your advertising choices. If required consent information cannot be obtained, ads may remain unavailable while the game continues to work.

Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We may share limited information with service providers that help us operate the app, such as hosting, database, analytics, crash diagnostics, payment processing, and advertising partners if ads are enabled. These providers may process data only as needed to provide their services.

Data Storage and Security

Our web services may be hosted on Vercel and backed by Neon PostgreSQL or similar infrastructure providers. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information, but no internet service can guarantee complete security.

Children's Privacy

The app is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum age required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will review the request.

Your Choices and Rights

• You can choose whether to grant camera, photo library, and notification permissions in Android or iOS Settings.
• You may request access, correction, or deletion of device-scoped gameplay information where required by applicable law.
• Some records may be retained when necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or platform requirements.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and make the new policy available through this page.
